Fourth of July Celebration: America’s 250th Anniversary

Join us for the City of Mobile's 4th of July Celebration, honoring America's 250th anniversary!  On Saturday, July 4 from 5:30-9:30 p.m., enjoy live music, food trucks, local vendors, nonprofits, games, family-friendly activities, and a breathtaking fireworks show at USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.  Entertainment ScheduleDJ GeauxThe Six Piece Suits (6:30-7:30 p.m.)The Kazzettes (7:45-9 p.m.)Fireworks show (9 p.m.) Admission to the Fourth of July Celebration is free, but there are fees to park. Parking will cost $10 per car and $30 per RV (cash only). You may reserve your spot in advance starting May 4. If you purchase a presale parking ticket, you will be able to park as early as 4 p.m. on the day of the event. No parking will be allowed after 8:15 p.m. Re-entry is permitted with parking pass; however, parking availability may be limited once the lot reaches capacity. Blankets and lawn chairs are encouraged for seating, and don't forget to pack sunscreen and to stay hydrated! Coolers are allowed, but glass containers and alcohol are not. Please see the full list of prohibited items and activities below: - balloons, bubbles, confetti, or paper lanterns- grilling or cooking with propane or fuel on grass- weapons- alcohol- glass- skateboards, hoverboards, rollerblades, and similar items- open flames, including candles- smoking or vaping in enclosed areas- sticks or poles (including selfie sticks and flag poles)- pets are not recommended due to large crowds and fireworks Restroom facilities will be located throughout the event area.

Back to School Family Day

Kick the end-of-summer blues at Mobile Museum of Art’s Back-to-School Family Day! Thanks to our sponsors at Spire, MMoA is hosting a free backpack giveaway for students in kindergarten and up, providing essential supplies to help everyone start the school year strong. The rest of the morning is packed with creative fun, from hands-on family art classes and face painting to an Elements of Art Scavenger Hunt. You can also visit the Mobile Public Library Bookmobile in the circle drive or join us for a guided Stroller Tour through the Handle with Care and Aminah Robinson exhibitions. With recurring Story Time LIVE! performances and gallery activities throughout the event, there’s plenty to keep the whole family inspired. The backpack giveaway begins at 10 am and lasts until supplies are gone. Backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and students must be present to collect them. One backpack per student.

MOB Puzzle Showdown

Join us for the MOB Puzzle Showdown on Saturday, July 18 starting at 8:30 a.m.! Team up with friends or make new ones as you race to solve identical puzzles for trophies, prizes, and bragging rights. This family-friendly event features two divisions: Youth Team (5-17) | 2-3 kids per team, adult coach optional, costs $15 per team Adult Team (18+) | 2-4 adults per team, costs $30 per team Each youth team will complete a 350-piece puzzle, and each adult team will complete a 500-piece puzzle. Light refreshments will be provided, but feel free to bring your own snacks if you prefer. Due to limited tables, you must register ahead of time.
