Survival Principles Instruction Program for Kids   Date: Saturday, April 13, 2024 Time: 11:00 AM-12:00 PM Price: Complimentary with regular park admission of $5 for adults and $3 for kids ages 6-12; under 6 is free. Program takes place at Old House Site   Blakeley is a partner with several local search and rescue teams. These non-profit volunteer organizations provide vital trained personnel and resources to law enforcement, fire rescue, US Coast Guard, and other agencies in our region during emergency situations. During this special series of programs, children will be introduced to a few of the most basic survival principles that could mean life or death in the unfortunate event they became lost or separated from adults in the outdoors. They will also get a chance to meet some of the specially-trained dogs which assist professional rescue teams in locating lost or injured individuals in wilderness settings.   Complimentary with regular park admission or registration for our Junior Naturalist Program at 11:00 AM. Events take place at the Old House Site.

35th Annual Baldwin County Strawberry Festival

Welcome to the Baldwin County Strawberry Festival! The Baldwin County Strawberry Festival is a much-anticipated local tradition held annually at Loxley Municipal Park. Every year, visitors join us from all around the Southeast to enjoy the special events, car shows, music, crafts and, of course, the strawberry shortcakes! Whether you're a festival veteran or first-timer, we invite you to join us for this year's event. Not only will you share a memorable experience with friends and family, but you will also help us raise funds for worthy causes right here in our community. Baldwin County Strawberry Festival is a local non-profit organization and all event proceeds stay local. Funds raised benefit Loxley Elementary School and the ARC Baldwin County, Inc. Our festival weekend starts on the second Saturday of April each year.

Junior Naturalist Program

Date: April 13, 2024 Time: 9:00-10:30 AM Price: Complimentary with regular admission   Kids ages 12 and under are invited to participate in a fun hands-on learning program sponsored by the Alabama Master Naturalists. Learn about our native trees, build pine cone barometers, create leaf art, learn about keeping a nature journal and more. All supplies are provided. Complimentary with regular park admission and/or registration to our Junior Naturalist Program. Pre-registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Event takes place at the Old House Site prior to Survival Principles Instruction Program (11:00 AM-12:00 PM) The Alabama Master Naturalists are trained volunteers who promote awareness and understanding of Alabama's natural world through science-based information and research.

Splash Pad Season Opening/Picnic Event

Earth Day Celebration Art Activity

Help us celebrate Earth Day as we collaborate with the Japanese Gardens for a family fun recycled art activity. Visitors will use recyclable materials like plastic and paper bags to create a Koinobori, also known as a Carp (or Koi in Japanese) Windsock in celebration of Japan’s National Children’s Day where families fly giant carp windsocks on flagpoles next to their homes from April to May as a symbol of perseverance, hoping their children will be as spirited and determined as the strong carp that swims upstream through powerful waterfalls. Starts at 1p.m.

Lunch Cruise

Date: Saturday, April 20, 2024 Time: 10:30 AM-1:30 PM Price: $45.99 adults/$35.99 kids 12 and under   Departing from the Blakeley dock, we’ll venture through one of the nation’s most biodiverse ecosystems as we wind our way to the popular Bluegill Restaurant on the Mobile Causeway. Afterwards we will take an alternate route back to the park as we keep an eye out for some of the area’s famed wildlife, such as alligators, ospreys, bald eagles, and numerous other species of plants and animals unique to this area. Enjoy this special cruise from the comfort of the Delta Explorer, our covered pontoon boat equipped with bench seating and a restroom. Tickets include lunch; please indicate your choice of meal and beverage during booking.
