Join us for the 2026 Gulf Coast Chinese Lantern Festival, an all new show filled with all new lanterns. As night falls, the Gardens glow with more than 40 towering, handcrafted light sculptures that transform the landscape into a vivid world of color and scale. Inspired by traditional Chinese lantern artistry and brought to life with modern design, dazzling plants, animals, and imaginative creatures illuminate every path. Interactive displays invite you to move, play, and step into the experience. Explore the Gardens after dark and discover an unforgettable night of light, energy, and wonder for all ages, with stunning photo moments at every turn.

Gulf State Park is hosting its first ever Venture Out event on May 15-17. This three-day festival will feature a variety of nature and outdoor-focused activities, workshops, and tours throughout the park and along the Backcountry Trail. The family-friendly event is a collaboration between Gulf State Park, the Gulf Coast Eco-Center, Valor Hospitality, the City of Gulf Shores, and the City of Orange Beach.   Event schedule can be found here: venture out schedule (6).pdf

Shop fresh, local, and handmade items every Saturday from April 25 through June 27 at Market in the Park! Farmers, artisans, and food vendors will offer a variety of seasonal produce, seafood, baked goods, art and more from 7:30 a.m. to noon in Cathedral Square.  We're proud to support our community with a selection of vendors who accept Senior Farmer's Market Nutritional Program (SFMNP) benefits. Plus, there will be live entertainment to enjoy in the park while you shop.

 Pancakes with Firefighters – May 16, 2026  Join us for a morning full of good food, friendly faces, and hometown pride at our Pancakes with Firefighters event! Bring your family and friends out to enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast served by your local firefighters while supporting the Elsanor Volunteer Fire Department. This fun, family-friendly event is the perfect chance to meet your local heroes, check out the fire trucks, and spend time with the community. There will be plenty of pancakes, smiles, and opportunities to support a great cause that helps keep our area safe.  All proceeds from this event will go toward helping us provide Christmas for families in need right here in our community. Whether you come hungry, curious, or just looking for a great way to spend your morning — we’d love to see you there!

Try out adaptive cycling during Venture Out Weekend at Gulf State Park! UPDATE - This event has a new location: Saturday, May 16th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.at Orange Beach Sportsplex TrailheadGulf Oak Rdg, Orange Beach, AL 36561 Join Lakeshore Foundation at the Orange Beach Sportsplex Trailhead to try out adaptive cycling! We will have a variety of adaptive bikes for youth and adults to try out and take for a ride on the trail. Already have your own bike? Bring it and join us to help celebrate the trail! You can also sign up or log your miles for the free 100 Alabama Miles Challenge program and grab a T-shirt! Lakeshore Foundation will provide adaptive bikes, helmets, and safety flags for youth and adults to try and ride. Available bikes will include hand cycles and recumbent trikes for adults and youth.
