Eastern Shore Art Center Opens the New Year with First Friday Art Walk! Join ESAC for a Permanent Collection take-over of ALL galleries! NEW EXHIBIT: Herman BischoffThe Art Center’s largest gallery focuses on the work of late artist Herman Bischoff, a long-time supporter of ESAC's mission. Exhibited paintings show his breadth of work from horses at the polo fields to figure illustration. NEW EXHIBIT: Pinky Bass and FriendsA recent addition to the ESAC Permanent Collection is a selection of Pinky Bass artwork from the 2024 exhibit “THREAD OF (dis)INTEGRATION” originally displayed at the Alabama Contemporary Art Center. A major part of that exhibit was a collaboration between Pinky and various Fairhope/Mobile artists, including two large Coptic bound books. Featured artists within the Permanent Collection also including Mannie Pair, Frank Caperton, Jean Lawrence, Michael Banks and much more. If you missed out on our recent drawing for a free farm tour, we have something for you! Next Saturday, 1/10/25 we have decided to have an open farm day for anyone who would like to come meet baby Christmas, and the rest of our amazing animals! You will be able to book time slots to come out and meet: -Miniature highland Cows, including our newest calf Tootsie -Alpacas -Miniature donkeys -Miniature horses, Elsa and Onna -goats, including our newest baby Christmas -Sheep -Draft horses -Bunnies, including newest babies! -Mini pigs, and our new baby Puma -chickens -ride our sweet pony, Heira! (100lbs and under please) You can go inside most of the enclosures and pet/feed the animals! We will sell a limited number of tickets each hour to avoid crowding. Tickets will cost $15 and children 2 and under are free! As of now the weather looks like it will not rain until late evening Saturday. If it looks like rain we will have options for refunds or rescheduling!

Join us for Sensory Day at the Exploreum! This time is designed to create a calmer, more supportive hands-on experience for guests with sensory sensitivities. From 9–10 AM on January 31, select exhibits will be open with lower lighting and reduced sound levels to provide a more comfortable environment for exploration. During this time, guests can visit:- Hands On Hall- Curiosity Factory- Wharf of Wonder (Galileo and Tiny Titans exhibit will be available to all after 10 AM due to our Member Preview event coinciding with Sensory Day) All ages are welcome in Wharf of Wonder during Sensory Day hours. Our Education Team will also offer sensory-friendly science demos, including exploring static electricity with balloons and paper towels to make stars “fly” and discovering density through interactive lava lamp activities. We will be showing the film, Oceans: Our Blue Planet, at 10 AM in the PCI Digital Dome Theater at a lower volume to support guests who are sensitive to sound. This experience is open to all families who benefit from a sensory-friendly setting, and we look forward to welcoming you for a calm and engaging morning at the Exploreum!
