No parking will be allowed after 8:15 p.m. Re-entry is permitted with parking pass; however, parking availability may be limited once the lot reaches capacity. Join the History Museum of Mobile and Colonial Fort Condé on Sunday, July 5, 2026, for a special celebration of American history featuring a Revolutionary War reenactment and the opening of a 50-year-old time capsule. At 4:00 p.m., experience The Capture of Captain James Willing, Colonial Fort Condé's annual Independence Day living history program. Watch as interpreters bring to life the story of Captain James Willing, a Continental Navy officer whose actions brought the American Revolution to British-occupied Mobile. The program includes a full reading of the Declaration of Independence, live musket demonstrations, period clothing, and audience interaction. Then at 5:00 p.m., witness history as the 1976 Colonial Fort Condé Time Capsule is opened for the first time in 50 years. Buried during America's Bicentennial celebrations, the capsule will be opened in honor of America250 and the 50th anniversary of the reconstructed Colonial Fort Condé. Come out and bring boxes, water balloons, and water blasters, and let’s protect the fort! At 6 PM, we will set up and build a fort. Everyone start saving and bringing those boxes to Double D's to use for building multiple forts. At 6:20 PM, let's go! Everyone grab water balloons and have the best evening. I will have kiddie pools set up throughout the field to refill blasters or grab more balloons. After you work up an appetite, come out and grab a burger at Double D's. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy your burgers while watching a movie on the big screen, but keep your eyes ready to dodge snowballs or maybe just popcorn  flying in the sky!

Join us for the coolest fun run of the summer! Beat the heat on McGregor Hill, then return to the store for all sorts of free, fun activities for the whole family. While this event is FREE, please register using the "Tickets" link so we can get an accurate headcount.  Demo new shoes from Mizuno, including the Wave Rider 30 and Wave Inspire 22.  Spray paint a T-shirt with our custom race logo stencil.  Popsicle Balance Dance-Off: balance a popsicle on your head while you complete a line dance - the last popsicle standing wins!  Kid's Race in the parking lot. Kick the end-of-summer blues at Mobile Museum of Art’s Back-to-School Family Day! Thanks to our sponsors at Spire, MMoA is hosting a free backpack giveaway for students in kindergarten and up, providing essential supplies to help everyone start the school year strong. The rest of the morning is packed with creative fun, from hands-on family art classes and face painting to an Elements of Art Scavenger Hunt. You can also visit the Mobile Public Library Bookmobile in the circle drive or join us for a guided Stroller Tour through the Handle with Care and Aminah Robinson exhibitions. With recurring Story Time LIVE! performances and gallery activities throughout the event, there’s plenty to keep the whole family inspired. The backpack giveaway begins at 10 am and lasts until supplies are gone. Backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and students must be present to collect them. One backpack per student.

Kids Yoga ages (3- 11) is based on the Karma Kids Yoga Program that encourages children to "play" yoga and experience how their breath and body move together in a fun-filled way! The philosophy of teaching yoga to children provides kids with a variety of yoga tools that they can take away from class and use throughout their lives. Animals, nature and other objects come alive in this class; as we move, we learn to stretch our bodies in new creative ways. Through yoga poses, games, activities, music and stories, we promote strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness. Breathing and visualization techniques teach focus, relaxation and self-control. This class promotes inner-strength, confidence and self-esteem; a feeling of well-being and respect for others; and, love for one's self, inside and out. Studio will provide mat for class.
