Join us for an Artwalk book signing on May 9, 2024, 6-8pm. In honor of National Foster Care Month, we will welcome children's author Kristen Pike with her latest release of If Only for a Little While. Pike is a foster care activist, so what better way to honor acknowledge children in care and the awesome parents who provide them with safe and loving homes than with a picture book fit for every home library? _If Only for a Little While _is the story of a little girl entering a new foster home and the bond that forms between her and her caregiver over time. The caregiver lovingly observes the child's routines and favorite activities, and as time passes, a strong familial bond develops. Eventually, the time comes for them to part ways, but the caregiver promises that the child will always hold a special place in their heart. This story captures themes of love, care, and the bittersweet nature of foster care. This book can also serve as a keepsake, featuring a special section where you can draw or place a picture of your favorite memory together. This is a can't-miss Artwalk at 9 S. Joachim St. Make sure to say hi to Mr. Bingley and browse all the books that haunt you. See you then! |
