Pancakes with Firefighters – May 16, 2026  Join us for a morning full of good food, friendly faces, and hometown pride at our Pancakes with Firefighters event! Bring your family and friends out to enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast served by your local firefighters while supporting the Elsanor Volunteer Fire Department. This fun, family-friendly event is the perfect chance to meet your local heroes, check out the fire trucks, and spend time with the community. There will be plenty of pancakes, smiles, and opportunities to support a great cause that helps keep our area safe.  All proceeds from this event will go toward helping us provide Christmas for families in need right here in our community. Whether you come hungry, curious, or just looking for a great way to spend your morning — we’d love to see you there!

Try out adaptive cycling during Venture Out Weekend at Gulf State Park! UPDATE - This event has a new location: Saturday, May 16th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.at Orange Beach Sportsplex TrailheadGulf Oak Rdg, Orange Beach, AL 36561 Join Lakeshore Foundation at the Orange Beach Sportsplex Trailhead to try out adaptive cycling! We will have a variety of adaptive bikes for youth and adults to try out and take for a ride on the trail. Already have your own bike? Bring it and join us to help celebrate the trail! You can also sign up or log your miles for the free 100 Alabama Miles Challenge program and grab a T-shirt! Lakeshore Foundation will provide adaptive bikes, helmets, and safety flags for youth and adults to try and ride. Available bikes will include hand cycles and recumbent trikes for adults and youth. Kids Yoga ages (3- 11) is based on the Karma Kids Yoga Program that encourages children to "play" yoga and experience how their breath and body move together in a fun-filled way! The philosophy of teaching yoga to children provides kids with a variety of yoga tools that they can take away from class and use throughout their lives. Animals, nature and other objects come alive in this class; as we move, we learn to stretch our bodies in new creative ways. Through yoga poses, games, activities, music and stories, we promote strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness. Breathing and visualization techniques teach focus, relaxation and self-control. This class promotes inner-strength, confidence and self-esteem; a feeling of well-being and respect for others; and, love for one's self, inside and out. Studio will provide mat for class.
