Spring Movies in the Park- Mobile

Join the City of Mobile Parks & Recreation Department for a Movies in the Park this spring! This is a free event in which you can hang out, play games, snack, and watch movies with us. Movies in the Park includes screenings of eight different movies in four different parks and community centers. All indoor events will begin at 6 p.m., and all outdoor events will begin at sunset. Make and Take Art

Mobile Museum of Art

Join us for creative fun in the sun as we explore the outdoors to create cyanotype sun prints and nature prints using a variety of art materials. Visitors to the art studio will create two types of nature themed prints through guided instruction on monotype and cyanotype printing techniques. The marketplace will operate from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with live entertainment beginning at 6 p.m., followed by a movie at dusk. Those who come for the music and a movie are asked to bring a chair or a blanket for seating.

Earth Day Celebration Art Activity

Help us celebrate Earth Day as we collaborate with the Japanese Gardens for a family fun recycled art activity. Visitors will use recyclable materials like plastic and paper bags to create a Koinobori, also known as a Carp (or Koi in Japanese) Windsock in celebration of Japan’s National Children’s Day where families fly giant carp windsocks on flagpoles next to their homes from April to May as a symbol of perseverance, hoping their children will be as spirited and determined as the strong carp that swims upstream through powerful waterfalls. Starts at 1p.m.

Date: Saturday, April 20, 2024 Time: 10:30 AM-1:30 PM Price: $45.99 adults/$35.99 kids 12 and under   Departing from the Blakeley dock, we’ll venture through one of the nation’s most biodiverse ecosystems as we wind our way to the popular Bluegill Restaurant on the Mobile Causeway. Afterwards we will take an alternate route back to the park as we keep an eye out for some of the area’s famed wildlife, such as alligators, ospreys, bald eagles, and numerous other species of plants and animals unique to this area. Enjoy this special cruise from the comfort of the Delta Explorer, our covered pontoon boat equipped with bench seating and a restroom. Tickets include lunch; please indicate your choice of meal and beverage during booking.
