Downtown OWACome celebrate Memorial Day Weekend at OWA Parks & Resort! We're honoring our nation’s heroes and kicking off summer with three days of star-spangled fun, family-friendly activities, and exciting entertainment. Starting Friday, May 23, guests can enjoy a bubble truck party, patriotic kids activities including a historical scavenger hunt, lawn games, and more. Coca-Cola will also be on site for a special Share a Coke activation—get a personalized Coke while supplies last! Uncle Sam will also be roaming Downtown for memorable photo ops! On Saturday, enjoy patriotic kids crafts, the Star Spangled Acrobatic Show by Luminary Entertainment, and live music on the Island Stage featuring Howling Grace and Edgewood Heavy. The evening ends with a patriotic fireworks show at 8:50 Ppm! Wrap up the weekend on Sunday with a Boat Making Contest, more games and inflatables, and a special Dive-In Movie Night* at Tropic Falls’ Big Water Bay featuring Stuart Little—float in the wave pool while you watch! Whether you’re from around the corner or just in town for the weekend, OWA is the place to be for Memorial Day fun, family memories, and summer vibes. * A General Admission ticket is required to watch the movie in Tropic Falls. This time we are partnering with MPRD Fitness and the Gulf Coast Fitness Palooza to present Kinesiology: The Science of Movement ! Have you ever wondered how muscles work or why some people run faster than others? Young "STREAMers" are invited to Mardi Gras Park where they will explore how muscles and bones work together by dissecting frog specimens and uncovering the secrets of motion. They will also be able to roll up their sleeves and build their very own model arm to see biomechanics in action! Come out to learn the science behind every step, jump and stretch! Gulf Coast Caribbean Carnival 2025
Mardi Gras ParkThe Caribbean Culture on the Gulf Coast will be celebrated. With the backing of the backing of Mobile Parks and Recreation, Level Up Entertainment, and the Gulf Coast Caribbean Carnival Association, the streets of Downtown Mobile will be the scene of beautiful caribbean costumes, music, and good clean family fun. A parade through downtown will end at Mardi Gras Park, where Mobile County Parks and Recreation Department has approved the FIRST EVER Gulf Coast Caribbean Carnival Festival. Its a festival celebrating the culture near and dear to our hearts. So come one come all May 25th, 2025 1pm. There will be vendors, food, music, performances and good family fun!!!

Memorial Day Flag Relay
Battleship Memorial ParkUSS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park is proud to be the last stop for the Memorial Day Flag Relay. The relay will begin in West Mobile and end on the USS Alabama. Two Flag Carriers will carry the American Flag and POW/MIA flag for 1 mile along the 25-mile route. For more information or to register for this free event, please call 251-649-1430. Spectators who wish to be at the park should plan to arrive by 10:30 a.m. and must pay $5 to park vehicles at USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park.
