Join us for the coolest fun run of the summer! Beat the heat on McGregor Hill, then return to the store for all sorts of free, fun activities for the whole family. While this event is FREE, please register using the "Tickets" link so we can get an accurate headcount.  Demo new shoes from Mizuno, including the Wave Rider 30 and Wave Inspire 22.  Spray paint a T-shirt with our custom race logo stencil.  Popsicle Balance Dance-Off: balance a popsicle on your head while you complete a line dance - the last popsicle standing wins!  Kid's Race in the parking lot. Must be 10 years old or younger.  Costume Contest: come dressed in your best popsicle-themed outfit.  Raffle drawing: Earn 1 raffle ticket for every $10 spent in-store before 9:30 AM!  Injury Assessments: the Center for Balance and Rehabilitation with be on-site before and after the run for hands-on assessments by Physical Therapist, Erica Dekle.  Ice plunge pools: Take the Plunge Gulf Coast will be on-site with their state-of-the-art ice plunge trailer to help you cool down.  Wear a pair of Swiftwick socks to the event and get a pair for FREE.  Free popsicles for all attendees!  Routes: 1.6 Mile walk: head up McGregor and turn back at the new roundabout on Dauphin St. 3.6 Mile run: head up McGregor and turn back at Old Shell Rd.  Event Schedule: 7:45 AM - Fun Run Sign-in & Demo Shoes: check in at the store and find a pair of Mizuno shoes to try out on your run. Demo shoes are first come, first served. 8:00 AM - Fun Run Start: runners and walkers leave from the store and head up McGregor Hill. 8:45 AM - Games Begin with the Popsicle Balance Dance-Off: be back at the store by this time if you want to participate. 9:00 AM - Kids' Race in the parking lot. 9:15 AM - Costume Contest: all entrants will parade for the crowd - loudest cheer wins. 9:30 AM - Raffle Drawing: MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!  Grab a friend or the whole family and we'll see you there!

Kick the end-of-summer blues at Mobile Museum of Art’s Back-to-School Family Day! Thanks to our sponsors at Spire, MMoA is hosting a free backpack giveaway for students in kindergarten and up, providing essential supplies to help everyone start the school year strong. The rest of the morning is packed with creative fun, from hands-on family art classes and face painting to an Elements of Art Scavenger Hunt. Kids Yoga ages (3- 11) is based on the Karma Kids Yoga Program that encourages children to "play" yoga and experience how their breath and body move together in a fun-filled way! The philosophy of teaching yoga to children provides kids with a variety of yoga tools that they can take away from class and use throughout their lives. Animals, nature and other objects come alive in this class; as we move, we learn to stretch our bodies in new creative ways. Through yoga poses, games, activities, music and stories, we promote strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness. Breathing and visualization techniques teach focus, relaxation and self-control. This class promotes inner-strength, confidence and self-esteem; a feeling of well-being and respect for others; and, love for one's self, inside and out. Studio will provide mat for class.
