MOVIES IN THE PARK IS BACK! This time, we are taking the cinema experience to Langan Park (4901 Zeigler Blvd.) for the viewing of “The Wild Robot” starring Lupita Nyong’o. Grab your lawn chairs, blankets and small coolers, and meet us at the Performing Arts Pavilion beginning at 6:30 p.m. Before the film begins at dusk, enjoy pre-film activities such as interactive lawn games, a special STREAM activation featuring mini-robots, and light refreshments while they last! August Living History Crew Drill | 8a-3p | USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park | General Admission
Come see history come to life with our WWII reenactors during our August drill. Interact with historical WWII reenactors aboard the USS ALABAMA and USS DRUM. These historical reenactors, dressed in WWII period Navy uniforms, demonstrate what life aboard ship was like during wartime. They share stories from our original crewmen, conduct weapons briefings, and demonstrate drills while aboard ship. Be sure to grab a spot on the main deck of the USS ALABAMA at 1:00 p.m. when “Call to Battle Stations” is sounded. Enemy aircraft will fly over attacking the ship, and the crewmen will fire back defend her with their guns blazing! Spectators will be able to take in the whole experience while the crew fires the ship’s 20mm and 40mm guns. Planes fly based on mechanics and weather conditions that day.

You and your child(ren) ages 6 & under are invited. Play on our giant, soft, fun-filled interactive inflatables. Little Tikes Jump Features: Bubbles – for interactive play and imagination. Fun Snack – a fun snack and drinks are now included in our Little Tikes Jump. We hope to incorporate some FUN-EXERCISE & Healthy Snacking. $13 + tax per child OPEN JUMPS/SPECIAL EVENTS – Groups of seven or more children must be pre-paid in advance. Stop by between 10 and 11 for Reptile Romp, where we’ll be offering outdoor enrichment activities for our reptiles. Discover interesting facts about the amazing scaly creatures that make Gulf State Park their home! During this special series of programs, children will be introduced to a few of the most basic survival principles that could mean life or death in the unfortunate event they became lost or separated from adults in the outdoors. They will also get a chance to meet some of the specially-trained dogs which assist professional rescue teams in our area in locating lost or injured individuals in wilderness settings. Complimentary with regular park admission. The program takes place at the Old House Site.

Come to the Arlene Mitchell Theatre on the campus of Spring Hill College at 7pm on Saturday, August 23 for an evening with Dad Company, Mobile’s 2025 Nappie Award winner for Best Local Comedian(s)! Watch as the four fathers of improv (Barney, Chip, Lesley and Steven) turn audience suggestions into full one-act comedic plays right on the spot.
