One Year Blogging Anniversary

This month makes one year since we published our first blog post. What a year it has been! Since then, we have been through a pandemic, welcomed two little boys into the family and created several posts. We still have a lot to learn when it comes to navigating the ins and outs of the blogging world, but we have enjoyed the journey so far. We wanted to share a few things about what we have learned over the past year and what we hope to accomplish going forward.

What we have learned

Perfect is not relatable

In the beginning, it was so hard to hit publish on some of these posts because they did not look “picture perfect”.  Not all of our pictures were professionally done and edited, our hair and outfits weren’t on point, our house was messy in the background… you get it. It is so easy to get wrapped in the comparison game. What we have come to realize is that perfect is not relatable and we would much rather be relatable. When you see moms on IG or other blogs with great hair, and all kids looking right at the camera (please tell us your secrets) that is nice to see but for most of us, that is not realistic. Though, let’s be honest-when we do get those type of pictures you bet we will be posting them!! We are 3 moms with totally different styles, circumstances and personalities so we hope you are able to find something you can personally relate to while you are here.

Give yourself time to learn

Nobody starts out knowing all of the answers or gets it right every time. We have learned so much about creating a website, formatting (if you know how to change the font, hit us up!), aesthetics, social media, etc. There is so much we want to do with this platform but in order to provide valuable content, we have to keep learning. We have realized that these things take time and we hope to only get better as we go.

Every subject is relevant

There are several topics we have considered writing about (or not writing about)  because we were not sure how many people would relate or how they may respond. At the end of the day we decided that every subject is relevant. Even if it is not a popular or easy to talk about topic, there is always someone out there who needs to hear these words. Also, with there being 3 of us behind this blog, we have agreed that if it is important to one of us, it is important to all of us.

What’s to come

For 2021 we are hoping to be able to get more content out to you consistently. We want to know more about you and what topics you would like to see on here going forward. Our goal is to build community and provide support to all mamas no matter where you are on your motherhood journey
