Mardi Gras Events on the Alabama Gulf Coast | 2025

Our favorite time of year is here on the Alabama Gulf Coast! This Mardi Gras season will begin with a tree lighting and stretch into March this year! These events are Mardi Gras related, but no parades on this list. If you are new to the area or needs some tips about navigating Mardi Gras parades with the kids, check out our family guide! Thursday, January 16 – Mardi Gras Tree Lighting: Join in the fun at Mardi Gras Park with a live brass band and beautiful lights while the city kicks off the beginning of this festive season! 6 to 8 PM!

Saturday, February 1 – Tour De Gras: Grab your bike, helmet, and throws to come ride in this fun Mardi Gras themed bike parade. Registration is free! 8 AM to 10 AM, Meet at Mardi Gras Park.

Friday, February 7 – King Cake-Off: With live music, kid activities, and a chance to vote for your favorite local king cake, this event is sure to be a hit with the family! It will be held at the Mobile Convention Center from 5 to 7:30 PM, buy your tickets now!

Sunday, March 2 – Joe Cain Classic 5K Run: 8 AM to 12PM; All registered runners will be eligible for door prizes, food, refreshments, & festivities at post race block party. Must be present to win. Lots of different categories and prizes!

Saturday, February 15 – Beaded Jamboree Family Day: Games, activities, kid’s parade, giant inflatable, and more! Festive fun for the whole family. 10 AM to 4 PM, Double D’s Burgers.

Saturday, February 22 – Krewe Du Kidz Masquerade: From Moon Pie Bingo to mask decorating and Mardi Gras themed glitter tattoos, every corner of this carnival is full of family friendly activities for young revelers.

Monday, March 3 thru Friday, March 7 – Minecraft Mardi Gras Motion Commotion: Stem for Kids program! They will be using Minecraft for Mardi Gras Challenges, building our own floats for a mini parade at camp, and so much more! Your child will learn about the history of Mardi Gras and even have a special visitor! Located in Daphne. 9am to 4pm.
