 Exciting News!  Join us in welcoming Tristan Nicaud and his backyard bug buddies on Saturday, May 2, at 1pm!  Tristan is not just your average bug enthusiast – he's a local young entrepreneur with a knack for exploring and documenting the wonders of our world!  As the author of "The Photobook Guide for the Southern Backyard" and its adorable coloring companion, available exclusively at Fantasy Island Toys, Tristan brings a unique perspective to backyard critter identification.  But that's not all – Tristan's passion extends to his YouTube channel, "Tristan Science," where he shares mesmerizing close-up videos of the creatures featured in his books!  By day, Tristan is a Process Engineer at Segers Aerospace Corporation, but his entrepreneurial spirit doesn't stop there. He's also the proud owner of Baldwin Drone Services, specializing in aerial photography for construction projects, real estate ventures, and more across Baldwin County.  When he's not busy with work or buzzing around with his drone, you'll find Tristan soaking in the beauty of Magnolia Springs, kayaking along the Fish River, and capturing the essence of Baldwin County through his photography.  Don't miss your chance to meet Tristan and learn more about his fascinating adventures with backyard bugs! Join local artist, Shoshana Brand, on May 16 for a hands-on Nature Journaling workshop! Geared towards individuals and families alike (ages 11 and up), the workshop will be conducted outdoors in the beautiful Gardens and concentrate on movement in space, nature observation, and documentation. In this workshop, students will become explorer artists and will use a variety of artistic tools to create a deep connection with nature, art, and themselves. Bring your colored pencils and comfortable shoes, and fall in love with nature through unique and fun exercises throughout our Garden. The nature journal is included in the price, a great item to keep with you for all your future outdoor activities. Gulf State Park is hosting its first ever Venture Out event on May 15-17. This three-day festival will feature a variety of nature and outdoor-focused activities, workshops, and tours throughout the park and along the Backcountry Trail.
