Join our educators on a guided walk to see the amazing flora and fauna that call Gulf State Park home and see an incredible view of our beautiful Lake Shelby! Bring binoculars if you have them and water to stay hydrated! With over 28 miles of trails and 9 unique ecosystems to explore, there is always something exciting to see in Gulf State Park! (Weather Permitting) All Ages / FREE No registration required

Visit the Nature Center between 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM to meet one of our native animals! Discover how these remarkable species help educate our visitors about conservation efforts at Gulf State Park. Learn about their natural behaviors and the important roles they play in our complex ecosystem. Location: Gulf State Park Nature Center, 22120 Campground Road, Gulf Shores There is a $5 per-vehicle fee to enter the campground where the Nature Center is located. Did you know that Alabama has sea turtles nesting on our beaches from May through August or that hatchings can stretch into October? If you want to learn more about these amazing ancient creatures and how you can help them (plus what to do if you get lucky and see one on the beach!), join us in The Lodge at Gulf State Park's lobby for a 15 minute talk about our sea turtles and how you can share the beach with them! Help drag a seinenet alongside a park naturalist as you search for fascinating aquatic critters,learn fun facts about each species, and explore what makes these lakes such aspecial part of our coastal ecosystem in this hands-on activity. This program is great for all ages!
