Tales and Trails in the Gardens

Mobile Botanical Gardens

A Literacy program of reading books and sharing activities. Designed for preschoolers and homeschoolers. Every Thursday morning at 10:30am the group will read a book at various locations in the Gardens. On rainy days the group will meet in the Larkins Classroom. FREE to MBG members, cost of admission for nonmembers, and registration is required. All children must be accompanied by parent or assigned adult guardian. Join us at Meaher State Park as we learn some fascinating facts about the sensational snakes present in our environment. We will learn how to identify snakes and discuss some of their unique qualities before taking a stroll down one of our trails to spot some (fake) snakes. We will use this opportunity to discuss how snakes use camouflage to their advantage and learn more about the individual species. Beers & Blooms at Bellingrath

Join us for Bellingrath’s Beers & Blooms, an all-day craft beer festival and concert series on the Great Lawn at the heart of the Gardens. Hear great music from local bands, and sample a wide variety of craft brews, shop with local vendors at their booths, and feast with a selection of food trucks, all in the beautiful surroundings of the springtime Gardens. What To Expect Adult tickets include all samples from the breweries, a 2 oz. tasting mug, live music, and Gardens admission. Our Bellingrath tent will be selling wine and beer for those who do not want to sample. This is a child-friendly event! Children’s tickets are $15 for ages 2-12. Ages 1 and under are free! Please note that Gardens will not be operating normal hours. You must purchase a ticket to visit the gardens on March 2nd.
