Free Community Activities (All Ages) Community Sculpture Trail Project: Participate in an outdoor, collaborative sculpture activity. Guests will follow a Scavenger Hunt along our sculpture trail, collecting found natural materials to bring back and attach to a central, evolving artwork. Ballet Performance & Breakaway Dance: Enjoy captivating performances by the Classical Ballet of Mobile, featuring an interactive breakaway dance session perfect for little ones (ages 2 and up). Family Assemblage Lab (Registration Required): Join this low-cost, hands-on class to design your own monochromatic assemblage. Using a variety of recyclable materials, you will create a small-scale structure and unify it by painting the entire piece in Nevelson’s signature all-black style

After the reading, at 2:00pm, all are welcome to visit Dr. Jones and have her sign your book! ABOUT THE BOOK: Meet Indya, a young explorer who dreams of becoming an archaeologist like her mom. She worked for the PBS television show Time Team America as the Archaeology Field School Director, where she created programs for junior high and high school students. She currently serves as the President of the Society of Black Archaeologists and is passionate about making archaeology accessible to all.
