The annual Craft & Yard Sale at the DI Campground will be held on Saturday, March 15 from 9am-noon and all are invited to attend. Handmade items will include pine straw baskets, seashell crafts such as angels, jewelry, flower arrangements and more. Also check out our wool-felted birds, nativity scenes, various cigar box scenes of birds, hand-tied polar fleece fashion ponchos for women and kids, Swedish dish cloths, mesh wreaths, and swags. Join us to celebrate springtime at our first Family Day event on March 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.! Dance to DJ Walk's beats, watch the Zuraka Belly Dancers of Mobile, toss vibrant colors, and craft with your family at Lavretta Park. Plus, shop from an array of local artisans. Color packets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to come dressed in white attire to fully embrace the color experience. Participants may also want to wear sunglasses for eye protection. Event begins at 10 a.m. Zuraka Belly Dancers of Mobile perform from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Color toss begins at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. Event ends at 1 p.m. Register as a vendor for Family Day. Awards and prizes will be given to the highest flying kite, biggest kite, most unique, best homemade kite and a special Mayor’s choice award! Kite competitions start at Noon. However, come early because at 11am Emerald Coast Kite Flyers Club & Mississippi/Gulf Coast Quad Line Flyers will be filling the sky with some unique & acrobatic kites! The Miss Dauphin Island Young Ladies will be on site to help you tye-dye your own T-shirt ($20 minimum donation) and Matt Erdman will be performing live! Shaved Ice Paradise & La Taqueria Tacos will be on site selling some delicious food & desserts! Rubber Ducky Regatta at OWA

The Rubber Ducky Regatta is back for a second year at OWA Parks & Resort! On March 22, up to 10,000 adopted rubber ducks will be dropped into the lake in Downtown OWA and will race to the finish line. The owner of the fastest ducks will win some great prize packages, including two season passes to Tropic Falls at OWA and a cruise for two aboard a Carnival cruise ship for 1st place. 2nd place will win a Family 4-Pack of Tropic Falls general admission tickets and a $1,000 Rouses Market gift card, and 3rd place will get two Tropic Falls general admission tickets and a one-year membership to Rich’s Car Wash.   All proceeds from the event will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mobile, which provides a home away from home for families with seriously ill and injured children being treated at area hospitals.   The fun kicks off at 11 a.m. with duck adoptions, free face painting, train rides, DJ Patrick at the Island Stage, and a Children’s Bounce City sponsored by Toys Under Twenty. Purchase an all-day wristband for $10 (4 pack for $30) to bounce and play in the festival grounds. New this year is the Jeep show and decorating contest. The theme for the Jeep decorating contest is “Superheroes” in recognition of the heroic strength displayed by hospitalized children and their families.   At 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3 p.m., there will be a free cooking demo in the festival grounds sponsored by Towne Tap.  Stop by and learn how to make an easy meal that would be served at RMHC to help feed their families. At 1:00 p.m. make your way to the OWA Island Stage for round 1 of House vs. House, where representatives from OWA and Ronald McDonald House will challenge each other in a game of Family Feud.   Throughout the day, participants and spectators can also purchase “Chance to Win” tickets for great prizes, such as OWA and McDonald’s swag, gift cards for kid’s games in Downtown OWA, and items from local businesses will be raffled off.  As a thank you to our valued healthcare professionals, OWA will be offering 50% off a Tropic Falls General Admission ticket, with proof of healthcare employment ID (*One ticket per ID available in person.  March22nd only).   At 4 p.m.  the Regatta begins!  The duck race will start at OWA Lake, where guests will be able to see their duck race to the finish line and winners will be announced.
