Cruise to the Site of the Clotilda Wreck
Mobile Convention Center Mobile, AlabamaDate: Saturday, September 5, 2026 Time: 1:30-3:30 PM Price: $37 for adults/$27 for kids 6-12 The last known ship to bring enslaved Africans into America, the Clotilda rests in the waters of the Mobile River north of the city. Come along with us as we make our way to this historic site and explore this somber but pivotal saga in local history with national significance. This special tour to the wreck site will be guided by our partners from Africa Town Freedom Tours, a group comprised of descendants of Clotilda passengers, storytellers, and community leaders in Africatown dedicated to sharing this important story. It will provide information on the voyage of the Clotilda, its passengers and their lives, and the enduring legacy of that fateful voyage by telling their stories.

History Museum of Mobile | Colonial Fort Conde | Phoenix Fire MuseumSpend the afternoon discovering Mobile’s rich history with FREE ADMISSION to the History Museum of Mobile, Colonial Fort Condé, and Phoenix Fire Museum on Sunday, September 6, from 1–5 p.m. At the History Museum of Mobile, meet the Oakleigh Belles, who will bring Mobile’s past to life through engaging storytimes and a fun coloring station for young visitors. At the Phoenix Fire Museum, discover Mobile’s firefighting history and enjoy special architectural tours offered throughout the afternoon. At Colonial Fort Condé, step into the past with a special Fashion Show at 2 p.m. Fort Condé staff and volunteers will showcase military and civilian fashions representing the French, Spanish, British, and American periods of Mobile’s history. The program will place a special emphasis on French clothing and fashion. Whether you’re interested in architecture, fashion, living history, or fascinating stories from Mobile’s past, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
