Snakes of Gulf State Park
Gulf State Park Nature CenterDiscover the fascinating world of native snakes in this engaging educational program! Learn how these often misunderstood reptiles help maintain healthy ecosystems while discovering fascinating facts about local snake species. Get an up-close look at several snake species, with an optional hands-on touch opportunity. This program is best suited ages 6+. Registration: Registration is required. Cruise to the Site of the Clotilda Wreck
Mobile Convention Center Mobile, AlabamaDate: Saturday, September 5, 2026 Time: 1:30-3:30 PM Price: $37 for adults/$27 for kids 6-12 The last known ship to bring enslaved Africans into America, the Clotilda rests in the waters of the Mobile River north of the city. Come along with us as we make our way to this historic site and explore this somber but pivotal saga in local history with national significance. This special tour to the wreck site will be guided by our partners from Africa Town Freedom Tours, a group comprised of descendants of Clotilda passengers, storytellers, and community leaders in Africatown dedicated to sharing this important story. It will provide information on the voyage of the Clotilda, its passengers and their lives, and the enduring legacy of that fateful voyage by telling their stories.
