Holiday Ornaments Make and Take! Please join us on Saturday morning, December 14th, 10am until noon, for a holiday ornaments make and take. Cookies and refreshments will also be served. We will create several nature-inspired ornaments for your tree or to give as gifts. Planned ornaments include cornstarch dough with pressed flowers, pinecone ornaments, woven yarn trees and a button reindeer. Get ready to embrace the holiday spirit at the  MPRD Christmas Extravaganza , in partnership with shoe designer Tyler Bailey and Al Harris Construction! Taking place on Saturday, December 14 at James Seals Community Center, this magical day promises fun for kids and adults alike! Unleash your creativity at various craft stations in Santa's Workshop, bounce your way through our exciting inflatables, dance to the upbeat tunes spun by our lively DJ, and of course, no winter celebration is complete without a special visit from Santa himself!  Additionally, there will be a family-friendly holiday film playing in a separate room for those who prefer a more quiet yet enjoyable experience! Join us at the Exploreum for a magical Christmas at the Castle on December 14th from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Explore the wonders of the season through engaging demonstrations and hands-on STEM challenges for the whole family. From chilling Liquid Nitrogen demonstrations to “White Elephant” toothpaste, families will enjoy a whimsical holiday celebration full of exciting STEM activities and experiments. We will even have our traditional paper snowball fight in our new Prehistoric Courtyard! Face painting will be available on a first come, first served basis. Don’t miss out on delicious frozen treats from the Southern Cream Ice Cream truck. While you’re here, you’ll also want to visit our newest traveling exhibit, The Amazing Castle, which will transport you back in time to a fanciful, medieval village, filled with opportunities for problem-solving, storytelling and imaginative play. Step back in time and celebrate Christmas at Colonial Fort Condé on Saturday, December 14 from 2-5pm. This event is FREE for visitors of all ages! Enjoy snacks, cider, and hot cocoa while watching special holiday performances on the lawn featuring handbell solo artist, Danny Lyons, the Saraland Elementary Choir, Azalea City Harmony, Corpus Christi Middle School Choir, and Mobile Bay Acapella. Children can visit Santa, write him a letter, and paint their own toys in the Toy Workshop. Create a beautiful, aromatic orange-clove pomander ornament and be sure to stop by the Silhouettes and Such table for a custom hand-cut paper silhouette portrait!

The MAGIC is returning this holiday season at Eastern Shore Centre! Join us for All is Bright  Bring the entire family out on Saturday, December 14th from 6-8 PM to enjoy the Spanish Fort City parade and to help us welcome Santa to The Centre! Following the parade, join us on the green space near California Dreaming for a tree lighting ceremony, live music, pop-up vendors, photo booth, kids activities, and maybe even a little snow!

On December 15 from 1-3PM, join in on the fun at the 2nd annual Christmas Tree Ornament Scavenger Hunt! Come see how many trees you can correctly match to the clues. First and Second place prizes will go to the person/group who solves all the clues in the shortest amount of time. On December 15 from 1-3PM, Gift Wrapping for donations will be available at the Welcome Center. Just bring all your gifts with a “To and From” on them and let us take care of the rest. Remember at each event the DI Chamber of Commerce will be taking donations for Feed the Need. Some items we are hoping to collect are large cans of hearty type soups (beef/vegetable, chicken vegetable), instant potatoes, canned vegetables (spinach, greens, peas), bags of dried beans (black eye peas, lima), canned fruit, canned yams, boxes of stove top dressings, canned ham, shelf-stable milk, cranberry sauce, any type of items to help with making a holiday meal.

Tales and Trails in the Gardens Preschool Storytime Returns! This fall, Tales and Trails preschool storytime returns to Mobile Botanical Gardens through the generous support of the Lilian S. Woolford Charitable Trust. Join us on Thursday mornings beginning at 10:30 am in various locations throughout MBG’s 106 acres to enjoy preschool storytime together. MBG Docents will read aloud specially selected stories and lead nature-based activities perfect for preschoolers. Parents and children alike will learn and have fun in our gorgeous garden setting.

Join us for a magical evening under the stars at the "Train Tracks and Movie Snacks" event! This cozy drive-in movie night, hosted by Breakthrough Teens, will transport you to the whimsical world of "The Polar Express."
