Sensory Day at the Exploreum

Join us for Sensory Day at the Exploreum! This time is designed to create a calmer, more supportive hands-on experience for guests with sensory sensitivities. From 9–10 AM on January 31, select exhibits will be open with lower lighting and reduced sound levels to provide a more comfortable environment for exploration. During this time, guests can visit:- Hands On Hall- Curiosity Factory- Wharf of Wonder (Galileo and Tiny Titans exhibit will be available to all after 10 AM due to our Member Preview event coinciding with Sensory Day) All ages are welcome in Wharf of Wonder during Sensory Day hours. Our Education Team will also offer sensory-friendly science demos, including exploring static electricity with balloons and paper towels to make stars “fly” and discovering density through interactive lava lamp activities. We will be showing the film, Oceans: Our Blue Planet, at 10 AM in the PCI Digital Dome Theater at a lower volume to support guests who are sensitive to sound. This experience is open to all families who benefit from a sensory-friendly setting, and we look forward to welcoming you for a calm and engaging morning at the Exploreum!

Family Assemblage Lab (Registration Required): Join this low-cost, hands-on class to design your own monochromatic assemblage.
