Don’t miss out on a wonderful day filled with fun and community spirit! The parade will kick off at Alba Middle School with Grand Marshal George C. Wallace, Jr., at 10 a.m. and will end at the Bayou La Batre Community Center. Kids will enjoy the jumpy houses, while food lovers can savor delicious dishes from La Taqueria, Twist Sushi, Somo Ice, and La Fruteria food trucks. Look for updates as more food trucks may be added to the lineup! Additionally, enjoy live music from the fantastic band Journey2Mars from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your family and invite old friends to join in the celebration of the Bayou! Mark your calendars—you won’t want to miss this event!Once the parade ends, community members may enjoy family-oriented activities and live entertainment by the band Journey to Mars, which will be at the Bayou La Batre Community Center for the remainder of the afternoon. The Saturday market will be done at Semmes Honor Park. We will have a variety of farmers and vendors with fresh fruits, vegetables, plants, jams, honey, plants, and a farm swap (animals). The animal shelter will be there with dog adoptions. We will have food vendors, live music, and an area to hang out and play a game of checkers or cards. Get ready for our first  Dive-In Movie of the Summer, hosted by the MPRD Aquatics Department!  Grab your towels and donut floaties, and meet us at Hillsdale Community Pool on Saturday, June 21 for the showing of the hit film, Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The Hillsdale Community Center Pool will close at 5:00 p.m. on that Saturday evening and re-open for Dive-in guests at 6:30 p.m.  The movie will begin promptly at sundown. Until then, enjoy exciting Sonic-themed pool games  and snacks from Short Dogs and Kona Ice, our featured food trucks!  Small beach chairs and mini-coolers are welcome. No glass bottles are permitted in the pool area. Looking forward to seeing you all there! It is going to be a great time! More details to come!
