For over 70 years, our flower-lined streets have proudly hosted the Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival which takes place every third weekend in March. While it has grown and evolved throughout the years, it remains a familiar family tradition for so many. During this three-day event, our population of 25,000 swells to nearly 300,000 as our downtown streets come alive with creativity, showcasing the best in art, food, and entertainment in our blossoming community, full of southern charm. The Fairhope Arts and Crafts has made a consistent appearance in the top 20 of the Sunshine Artist 200 Best and was ranked number 15 in the latest 200 Best in the Fine Arts and Design. The 73rd festival theme is "Paint the Town" and we mean that literally. The festival is unveiling something truly unique — a mural that will be created downtown, celebrating the festival and honoring its 70+ year tradition. The mural will be located adjacent to the Fairhope Welcome Center on Section Street. Our featured artist Hannah Legg will begin work on the mural in early March, with plans to do some live painting during the festival, allowing visitors to experience the creation process firsthand.

The 53rd ANNUAL OUTDOOR ART SHOW presented by the Eastern Shore Art Center is Friday, March 14th through Sunday, March 15th, 10am-5pm each day. FREE admission for visitors! The festival takes place in front of the Eastern Shore Art Center along Oak Street and Section Street up to Magnolia Avenue with over 95 artist booths, live demos, music and more! The annual Craft & Yard Sale at the DI Campground will be held on Saturday, March 15 from 9am-noon and all are invited to attend. Handmade items will include pine straw baskets, seashell crafts such as angels, jewelry, flower arrangements and more. Also check out our wool-felted birds, nativity scenes, various cigar box scenes of birds, hand-tied polar fleece fashion ponchos for women and kids, Swedish dish cloths, mesh wreaths, and swags. Awards and prizes will be given to the highest flying kite, biggest kite, most unique, best homemade kite and a special Mayor’s choice award! Kite competitions start at Noon. However, come early because at 11am Emerald Coast Kite Flyers Club & Mississippi/Gulf Coast Quad Line Flyers will be filling the sky with some unique & acrobatic kites! The Miss Dauphin Island Young Ladies will be on site to help you tye-dye your own T-shirt ($20 minimum donation) and Matt Erdman will be performing live! Shaved Ice Paradise & La Taqueria Tacos will be on site selling some delicious food & desserts!
