Kids Fishing

Join us at the Meaher State Park fishing pier for a fun morning of fishing with our Naturalist Chloe Drexel! Bait will be provided. If you have a personal pole, please bring it. If not, we will have extras to share in limited quantities.
Kids 15 and under do not need a fishing license, but our 16+ friends will need a freshwater fishing license to participate. These can be purchased at www.outdooralabama.com.
What to bring: water, snacks, sunglasses, and weather-appropriate clothing along with a fishing pole and tackle if you have those available.
There’s NO COST for overnight guests, veterans, and children under 12, and a small $3 park entry fee for anyone else 12+.
