Earth Day Celebration Art Activity

Visitors will use recyclable materials like plastic and paper bags to create a Koinobori, also known as a Carp (or Koi in Japanese) Windsock in celebration of Japan’s National Children’s Day where families fly giant carp windsocks on flagpoles next to their homes from April to May as a symbol of perseverance, hoping their children will be as spirited and determined as the strong carp that swims upstream through powerful waterfalls.
