Splash Pads in the Baldwin County Area
South Alabama heat can get intense, so finding ways to keep the kids cool is a must. Splash pads are one of our favorite go-to spots where they can burn off energy without overheating. With several options around, they’re a perfect alternative when you’re not up for sandy beach days. Most of the locations on this list are open daily from April through October. Hours and availability for splash pads can change due to weather, maintenance, or other unforeseen issues. Be sure to check each location’s official website or social media pages for the most up-to-date information before heading there. Temporary closures or schedule changes may occur, especially during peak…

You Can Now Own A Piece Of Mobile’s Historic Battleship
As Mobile natives, we grew up taking field trips to the USS Alabama Battleship, learned about it’s history, and have taken our own kids to visit. For those that aren’t familiar, the ship is named the Mighty A and was used in many battles, including some during World War II. We suspect that most locals could at least say they have visited once and that their kids know exactly where it is when crossing over Mobile Bay. After 80 years, the deck finally had to be replaced. The wood is being cleaned and created into keepsakes, so others can own a small piece of history. Each salvageable plank is being…

TekyGo! Squeezie: An Innovative New Toy For Kids
It is no secret that tablets and electronics have become a new favorite “toy” for kids. Phones, tablets, TV, and computers are all things our children will grow up using much more than we did. While I prefer to get outside and keep them moving as much as possible, we still spend a fair amount of time inside due to heat and rain in the area we live. Personally, I don’t mind my four boys having some screen time, but I do feel the content has to be monitored and at a certain point they need to be more active. When TekyGo! first reached out about their new product, the…
